The Alexa application from Amazon allows users to use the virtual assistant directly from the iOS device and control it.
Previously this feature was available to Android users, and after the update today became available to the users of the use of iOS voice control through the application of Alexa fully.
Adding voice control to the Alexa app on iOS is part of Amazon's long-term goal by making its virtual assistant available in as many different places as possible. Of course, the biggest problem with this strategy on iOS is that users must first go to the Alexa application to use voice control, rather than being able to say the word "Alexa".
This was expected, however, as no one thought Apple would allow Amazon to direct Alexa's assistant directly against Siri. It also significantly reduces the benefit that the audio assistant is expected to offer.
Amazon Alexa is available as a free download on the App Store. Will you use the Alexa Voice Control from your iPhone? Let us know in the comments!
